On-loan Arsenal starlet Nwakali fails to win promotion

Kelechi Nwakali’s dream of gaining promotion to the
Dutch Eredivisie with MVV Maastricht has been dealt a
massive blow after they lost their playoff match to Roda
JC, who paraded former Flying Eagles captain
Abduljaleel Ajagun.
Roda defeated Maastricht 1-0 on Sunday to retain their
place in the Eredivisie. The first leg at MVV ended in a
goalless draw.

The game was decided after just 26 minutes when Roda
scored what eventually proved to be the goal to keep
them up in the top league. MVV were reduced to 10 men
in the 59th minute.
The game was also a derby, as both clubs are based
only 25 kilometres apart, was decided after only 26
minutes,
Ajagun played the entire duration for Roda, while
Nwakali was replaced after 55 minutes.
