Nigeria striker Victor Anichebe has suffered yet another
injury and with just three games to the end of the
Premier League season, could have played his final
game for Sunderland.
The 29-year old taken off in the 37th minute as
relegated Sunderland went on to lose 2-0 to Swansea,
with the Nigeria international suffering what appeared
to be a hamstring injury. He had only just returned from
another injury weeks ago.
And with Sunderland already relegated to the
Championship and his contract up at the end of the
season, the striker may have played for the last time for
the Black Cats.
There are also reports he is eager to switch to the
cash-rich Chinese Super League, but it remains unclear
how that will work out now that he is injured, as it
remains unknown how long he will be out for.
The Super Eagles striker first got injured in the game in
the 29th minute and was treated for him to return to the
fray, but went off completely less than 10 minutes later
when he couldn’t continue with the match and was
replaced by Tunisia international, Wahbi Khazri.
