Jose Mario Dos Santos Mourinho Felix, Portuguese football manager, born on 26th January 1963 born to a middle class family in Sebùtal, Portugal. He is currently the manager of Tottenham Hotspurs Football club, London, England.
Mourinho started his managerial career as a translator to Bobby Robson in the 90s.
He then took over as the manager of Benfica in 2000 having a short spell there before moving to União de Leiria. However he hit the spotlight during his time at Porto where he won the UEFA cup (now known as the UEFA Europa League), the UEFA champions league, the Portuguese league on two occasions as well as winning the domestic cup.
He was employed by Chelsea FC in 2004, where he succeeded Claudio Ranieri, In his first press conference, he wowed the whole world when he referred to as him self as the special one. He went on to win Chelsea their first league title in fifty(50) years in what was a record breaking season. His defensive record set that season still stands till today. He went on to add another league title the next year as well as another in 2015 in his second spell as the blues boss.
In 2008, Mourinho moved to Inter Milan where he spent two(2) years winning a treble for the Nerazzurri. Due to his reputation and success he was called upon to take the Real Madrid post where he won every domestic trophy during his spell there.
He has also managed the Manchester United team (2016 - 2018).
Mourinho today is one of the most reputable coaches in world football known for his good workon and off the pitch. In 2017, Rua da Saude road in his home town was renamed 'Avenida Jose Mourinho' to honour the Portuguese tactical genius for his accomplishments. Mourinho hasn’t just been a coach to most of his players, but also a father to the likes of Michael Essien, Samuel Etòo, Iker Casillas and many others.
Mourinho has become one of the most controversial figures in world football with many not giving him the credits he deserves. However Mourinho remains one of the most successful managers that have ever graced world football.
I could go on and on about the life and achievements Jose Mourinho because that’s how much of an exceptional man he is. All I can do is to wish him the best of luck in his position at Tottenham Hotspurs.
